Kelly Schaffer is a Consultant specializing in community assessment, communications, grant writing, and early education and care, including Head Start Preschool and Early Head Start services. Since joining Foundations for Families in 2014, Kelly has researched and completed community assessment reports, annual updates, and data collection efforts for more than 40 clients in 23 states, including regional and local organizations (e.g., county governments, educational service districts, Community Action Agencies, nonprofit organizations).
Kelly brings nearly 20 years of experience in the government, for-profit, and nonprofit sectors to her work. She is an experienced consultant, having worked with state agencies, philanthropic organizations, and health care organizations to provide project management, data analysis, and grant support. In 2012, Kelly received The Assistant Secretary’s ACF Honor Award – Partnering for HHS Excellence Award from the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services, Administration for Children and Families.
Kelly’s collaborative approach to supporting clients is defined by exceptional communication and attention to detail to ensure on-time and high-quality outcomes. Projects are implemented with clients’ needs at the forefront and with sensitivity to their organizational deadlines, dynamics, and goals. With data guiding many projects, careful analysis is foundational.
Kelly has a Master of Education degree in Risk and Prevention from Harvard University and a B.S. in Management from Boston College. She is a former elected official, having recently served for five years as School Director for the Rose Tree Media School District.
Kelly resides near Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. She enjoys running, traveling, and exploring new parks and playgrounds with her family.
