Summer Reflection and Reset – Share Your Thoughts
With the program year coming to a close, summer is an ideal time to reflect and reset. It also provides an opportunity to review accomplishments of the 2025-2026 program year and to plan for what comes in 2026-2027.
Last month, we attended the NHSA Leadership Education and Development Summit (LEADS), the theme of which was The Joy of Leadership: Turning Vision into Action. In updates from NHSA, we heard about uncertainty in Head Start and the importance of continued advocacy, partnership, and planning. There was discussion about the future of Head Start funding, and fewer children being served in Head Start than in past years.
A poll of attendees at the conference overwhelmingly showed workforce challenges and lack of funding as some of the biggest obstacles to the long-term success of Head Start. Do any of these themes resonate with how you’re feeling about the future of Head Start?
We’ve appreciated working with so many of you throughout the program year and understand that there are a lot of considerations on the horizon for Head Start programs across the country. Given this, we’re curious to know what’s top of mind for your program as you think about planning for the upcoming program year and beyond. We hope you’ll share your thoughts in our anonymous survey below.
The survey will be open until August 7, 2026. Your input will help us create content for Head Start News and provide timely and relevant support for your program. Thank you for participating!
Thank you.
