OHS Forecasts Funding Opportunities for DRS Round Two

Friday, the Office of Head Start (OHS) forecasted upcoming Early Head Start (EHS) and Head Start (HS) grant opportunities.  This announcement was required by CFR 1307.

In each forecast you’ll find information about the communities that get HS or EHS services, available federal funds, and the expected number of awards and, in a helpful  improvement over round one's announcements, specific (if estimated) target dates for the post date, application due date, award date and start date.

When OHS is ready to accept applications, a Funding Opportunity Announcement (FOA),you'll be able to find it here, searching  CFDA 93.600. You can also sign up to be notified by email.Important Dates:OHS expects to begin publishing Funding Opportunity Announcements on July 31, 2013.The expected application due date is October 30, 2013.The expected award date is June 1, 2014The expected start date is July 1, 2014.Of note:In many cases, not all but most, service areas that had both Head Start and Early Head Start grants are being offered as a Birth to Five Opportunity.  You'll remember that OHS conducted a pilot of this approach earlier this year.As with round one, we think this information is easiest to read by state (not a grants.gov sort criteria) and are putting that together now.Thank you.
