Programs for school-aged children take place in various settings and pursue a wide range of goals.  Something they all have in common is the aim to provide safe, enriching experiences for the children they engage.  Parents trust these programs to nurture and care for children in optimal ways.  Foundations for Families knows that program environment and staff training are two critical components in this equation.  We support programs, following the National Afterschool Association (NAA) Standards for Quality School Age Child Care, the School Age Child Care Environmental Rating Scale and the American Camp Association (ACA) Accreditation Standards to deliver professional development and technical assistance.

School Age Child Care
High quality child care programs combine educational, enrichment, cultural and recreational learning activities to achieve proven outcomes. We know that when school age children participate in excellent care programs they often receive academic and social benefits. Well-trained staff, optimal environments and intentional program design all combine to create these benefits. Foundations for Families provides professional development training and program technical assistance to child care programs interested in the quality of care they offer.  

Camp Connect
Foundations for Families' Summer Camp Connect community is a group of enthusiastic, dedicated individuals who have vested interest in providing outstanding camp programs for kids.  We offer workshops and chat groups as forums for camp directors to share resources and ideas.  Our professional development workshops are designed to get counselors ready for a great summer with their campers.  Through accreditation support we help camp programs align their design with the standards of the American Camp Association.
